這首歌是主唱Pat在人生低潮時所寫的。當時他的樂團還沒紅，他媽又得了肺癌，他必須要做巡迴演唱，當時他連手機費都付不起，必須要一直在路程中找公共電話好跟他病危中的媽媽說話。後來他媽過世了，有天凌晨他應該是覺得很孤單吧，突然想起他媽就突然寫了這首歌，最後成為Train的成名作。所以歌裡面的話，都是對他媽說的。
