before the damn Skyscapes set in late 1984.
Sorry folks, but this is the best theme! I like O’bryan’s and MFSB TSOP’s
too, but this is the ONE!. Just smooth and funky at the same time. Just the
bassline alone, not to mention the smooth sax solo on the bridge. Just too
much!

their pores, damn this reminds me of Saturday’s back in the day, not a care

One of the best Soul Train theme songs of all time.
The bass line is actually somebody playing a bass guitar. No fake bass
sounds that they use today.
@Gambeat1978. Was watching VH1 yesterday and they had the story of Soul
Train. Sent a brother down memory lane. I made a note to see of the old
theme songs were on here. Thanks for posting it.
This song always reminded me of a summer Saturday in the 80’s, at the park
for a cookout, this kind of music playing, everyone sporting jheri curls
and the latest fashion, people dancing, playing cards and/or dominoes,
signifying, mackin’, drinking some Schlitz Malt Liqour and
Champale—nothing goes good like Champale with bbq. I really miss those
days!

Sat mornings baby….when soul train would come on and this theme would
soooth throuh the TV set…..AHHH memories!!!…
i like the whispers it takes me back to the good old days when i wuz
younger love those days and the video is of the chain.
