Shes working hard to make her own start light so she knows that emulating
Toni will put her in that box the other 5 record labels wanted her in. As
far as why she came on the mic with that strange low tone idk as a singer
sometimes its easier to start off low via widening your throat but once you
sing you should be unappealingly deep.

Even her last year soul train performance was weak and this year?? To me it
wasn’t good. You would think with all that personality she would hit the
floor harder than Beyonce but she clearly overdoes everything. To me she
sounds a little messy whenever she isnt hitting high notes. I’m not saying
she is trying to be like anybody because maybe this is her but it seems
like a mixture of what i’ve seen before. When Missy said she was preparing
to go back in the studio to do music she said she didnt listen to the radio
for months because she didn’t want to subconsciously get influenced by
anything that was already out and have her music sounding the same as
everybody else. With tamar and any other Artist there is such a huge
Beyonce craze right now and I feel it is hard not to look at her and get
some kind of pointers. But when someone else does it it just comes across
very generic
